About Jim O'Neill
Originally from Long Island, Jim graduated from Fairfield University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. After college, he worked as a sales representative for Wang Laboratories, selling early-day mainframe computers and workstations. After a few years in the computer industry, Jim decided corporate America was not for him. Carpentry had always been one of his hobbies, and in 1989, Jim decided to leave Wang to start a general contracting firm with one of his childhood friends.
Cambridge Associates was founded in 1989 and specialized in residential renovations. It quickly grew to be one of the premier residential contracting firms in the Garden City, NY area. In 1994, Jim and his family relocated to the Boston area. It was at that time that J.C. O’Neill Contracting Corporation was born. With very few connections in the Boston area, Jim built the company from the ground up. Today he has a successful general contracting business and hundreds of satisfied customers. All of his business comes from referrals and word-of-mouth.
Outside of work, Jim coached several different sports teams including Garden City High School Boys Varsity Hockey, Walpole High School Freshmen Lacrosse, and many youth lacrosse teams. Jim also served as the president of Walpole Youth Lacrosse. He is an avid fisherman and skier.
